Happy birthday, Cedar River!

In August 2022, Rosemary's story about a fraudulent startup, a treacherous shortcut, and a breakdown in country Australia formed in my mind, and Cedar River materialised around her. Like Rosemary, I've moved around a lot, and like Rosemary, I've never really felt at home anywhere. Some parts of my sweet little town were inspired by places and people I knew, but the best parts were birthed straight from my own heart's yearning for a place to belong.  

On September 22nd, I released Cedar River and its sweet, endearing, complicated characters into the world, half-terrified that no one would find them, and half-terrified that they would, and despise them. I felt so strongly that God had given me revelations intended to be a blessing to the body of Christ, but I had no way of knowing how the body would receive them.

I never imagined that I would find such beautiful, tender-hearted, God-honouring readers, whose enthusiasm and encouragement have strengthened my heart over the past year. Thank you to every one of you who have emailed me about the characters that you love, the characters you want to learn more about, and the encouragement you've experienced in your own heart and faith.
