Release Day for Book Five in the Cedar River series, 'The Pressing'!

Book Five of the Cedar River series is officially out in the world!

The eBook of Angela’s story, ‘The Pressing’ is available on my website and in the retailers. Paperbacks are still a little delayed because of tech issues with the printing and proofing process, but will be here soon.

Angela is the youngest protagonist that I've written, but there are so many things that don't change with age, such as loving family and friends, and wanting to follow God's will, even if it's hard. 

This book also forced me to reflect on decisions that I've made based on other people's declarations or exhortations, well intentioned at best and with an agenda at worst, and unpopular decisions I've made or positions I've held based on the Word of God. Choosing to follow man's voice might feel easy in the moment, but usually leads to a hard road. Choosing to follow God's leading isn't easy, and often comes at a cost. As followers of Christ, however, we put our trust in the One who knows the end from the beginning, knowing that when we choose with eternity in mind, good will come from our obedience in ways we may not see until we stand before Jesus. 

There's also a gentle message about valuing the good gifts from God; I don't mean gifts and talents given to edify the Body of Christ, but the gifts rich in love amongst family and friends. In Western culture, they're too easily thrown away in pursuit of our own vainglory and ambition, but that pursuit also comes at a cost. Being able to see them for the precious treasures of eternal value in the Kingdom is also a gift in itself.
